New dual function wireless controller!

The new Ritron TeleSwitch remote switch incorporates a UHF or VHF radio transceiver and a dual relay DTMF decoder to allow the remote, wireless control of any device that can be turned on or off.

The dual relay decoder board responds to predetermined DTMF tones to either activate or de-activate one or both of its relays. The relays, in turn, can be hardwired to any of a multitude of devices such as solenoids, pump motors, lights, heaters, etc. The new DTX radio modules included in the latest TeleSwitch version allow The TeleSwitch to be used in harsher, more industrial environments than ever before!

Developed to address the special needs of U.S. railroads, the TeleSwitch can raise and lower crossing gates, control signal lights, even switch tracks when necessary.

Fire departments can use TeleSwitch to open and close doors, control traffic signals, even control utility cutoffs.  The applications and the benefits are limited only by your imagination!

The difference between gorillas and monkeys.......

Everybody knows about 800 pound gorillas.  Size always wins - or does it?  We all know who the gorilla is in the communications business.  They always have their way, but every once in awhile they don't.  Sometimes the monkeys win.

Monkeys are fast and agile, have fewer needs, and the power of flexibility.  Relm Wireless is like a monkey.  They were recently trying to get a piece of the pie involving a large communications contract in Harris County (Houston) Texas.

The customer wanted 2-tone analog paging included as a part of a P25 trunked radio system.  The gorilla said you can't have it.  It can't be done.  I have spoken, there will be no further discussion.  Guess what?  The monkey did it, and that's why I am delighted to be a part of the monkey's team.  The world needs more monkeys!

I said all that to say this.  If you are considering the purchase of P25 radios, give us a call.  We would like to tell you more about gorillas and monkeys and why dealing with monkeys may be of benefit to YOU!  Just give us a call at 800.489.2611, email, or text us at  Monkeys ROCK!

Have You Been Looking For The Best Personal Radios for Public Safety Users?

We are often asked what our recommendation would be as "the best" personal 2-way radio for public safety users.  To answer that question, we first have to distinguish what type of public safety user is the subject of the question.  Although fire departments, emergency medical services, and law enforcement agencies have some commonalities, there are some differences.

For example, fire departments generally need the capability to be selectively addressed or "paged".  EMS personnel and law enforcement officers generally don't need this feature but all users want the best radio they can get for the lowest cost (both purchase and maintenance cost).  We offers some great solutions for all these users.

Administrative personnel often have a requirement to communicate on both VHF and UHF, sometimes 700/600 MHz and VHF and/or UHF. In many cases, there is a need for compatibility between analog and digital radio systems.  We can do that, and we can do it with affordability!

So where do you find all this great information?  It's easy!  Just click here.  You will be directed to the special offerings for fire department users, but it you look closely, you will find these offerings may be just right for you!  BTW, if narrow banding has caused you some range problems, click here for some possible solutions.

You can fax us, or even drop by and see us.  We'll even provide driving directions, and the coffee is always on!

Yellow Dot Program Can Save Lives!

Have you heard about the Yellow Dot Program? The Yellow Dot program is being implemented in counties across the country. The relatively simple idea has proven to be an effective way to relay information to the emergency response teams in the event of an accident. Participants in the Yellow Dot program place a yellow sticker on the bottom left corner of their vehicle’s rear window. This sticker lets emergency response crews know to check the vehicle’s glove compartment for important medical information regarding the vehicle’s driver and/or passengers.

This program is saving lives all over the USA and it's FREE! Click here for more information on the Alabama program.  Links to other states are also provided on the web site. This is one of those things that has been done without huge government bureaucracies, wasted tax payer dollars, or any self serving interests by political powers.  It has been conceived and implemented by those who care about others.  It's the kind of thing that makes me proud to be an American!

I learned of the program from a 61 year old disabled Vietnam veteran who has served as a volunteer fire chief for over 20 years in a rural Alabama community.  He would like to retire, but he can't since the young people have mostly left the community, but that's another story.  The story is that a major highway runs through his area - Lot's of accidents, mostly strangers, many with no basic information in the vehicle. Anyone involved in rescue work knows the problems this can cause. Yellow Dot can save lives.  That life could be yours or mine.  Get on line, sign up and spread the word!

Speaking of spreading the word, we would like to add a little action to our words!  We have a personal 2-way radio especially designed for outside work.  It's black and yellow to make it easy to find if dropped.  It's MIL-SPEC rugged and waterproof.  It's powerful - five watts of power in either VHF or UHF, it's loud when you're outside, and polite when you're inside (with both audible and vibrate alerting capability), and it's affordable - just $369.  Information on the TC-610P is available by clicking here.

If you need a radio or two, we encourage you to consider the TC-610P.  We will made a $100 contribution to the Yellow Dot program in your area for each TC-610P radio purchased.  Or, if you prefer, we will make at $50 contribution for every MK-II dual band radio purchased. Help us to help spread the good news.  It's a win-win deal for everyone!

Law Enforcement Radios Have To Work All The Time, Everywhere!

When a call comes in, an officer never knows what they will find on arrival at the scene.  That's why the 2-way radio has to work.  Unfortunately, since narrow banding, many agencies have found that their radios no longer work in remote areas, the very areas where the radio is most needed!

In some cases, the mobile radio may still work, but the portable radio coverage can be significantly reduced as a result of narrow banding.  A portable radio that doesn't work on a domestic violence call, or even a routine traffic stop is a problem that must be corrected.  The question is HOW do you correct the problem?

If you have "a narrow band problem", we may have a solution.  If you would like to know more, just click here.  You'll be glad you did!

Grant Opportunity for Law Enforcement Agemcies

It's that time of the year again!  The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program (42 U.S.C. 3751(a)) is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. JAG funds support all components of the criminal justice system, from multi jurisdictional drug and gang task forces to crime prevention and domestic violence programs, courts, corrections, treatment, and justice information sharing initiatives. JAG funded projects may address crime through the provision of services directly to individuals and/or communities and by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of criminal justice systems, processes, and procedures.

A list of eligible counties and municipalities is available by clicking here. We offer two product/services that can help reduce crime in your community. The CrimeBuster system is a great multi-purpose system that is efficient and affordable.  Our RobberStopper program allows you to work with business leaders in your community to form a workable crime fighting partnership. For more information, check out our special law enforcement web site by clicking here.  If you would like an assist in putting together a winning grant application, call Burch Falkner at 205.643.0204 or drop an email to
