New product for Fire Departments

REAR VISION CAMERA SYSTEM

We all know the drill for driving fire and rescue vehicles backwards. An observer walking alongside the vehicle uses hand signals, shouts, and/or uses a 2-way radio to stop before they roll over or into something not meant to be hit by an emergency vehicle.

As an administrative policy, this is a great procedure. In real life, there simply are not enough people (in particular with volunteer fire departments) to afford the luxury of someone walking alongside the vehicle! Most municipal departments use rear vision camera systems even though they do have the manpower to provide driver assistance. They seem to think they have more important tasks for their personnel. That's why most apparatus delivered to municipal fire departments in the USA are equipped with rear vision camera systems by Safety Vision! More emergency vehicle manufacturers have selected Safety Vision systems than all others combined!
